Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the application of behavioral principles to the improvement of socially significant behavior. ABA is the most widely approved treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders and is the only treatment approved by the Surgeon General. Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) Doernbecher lists early intensive ABA as the most effective treatment for autism. Early intervention and intensive Applied Behavior Analysis have been extensively documented as the most effective intervention for children with autism.
